Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Contacts Manager (the "Service") handles your information. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

In short: Contacts Manager works directly on your own Google contacts through Google's official API. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not copy your contacts into a separate marketing database. Your contact data stays in your Google account.

1. Who we are

Contacts Manager is an independent web tool that helps you organize the contacts stored in your Google account — adding labels, merging duplicates, importing/exporting, and safely deleting or restoring entries. For any privacy question, contact us at contacts.manager@ishere.club.

2. Information we access

When you sign in with Google and grant permission, the Service accesses the following through the Google OAuth 2.0 and Google People API:

Basic profile for sign-in — your Google account identifier, email address, and name (openid, email, profile scopes). This is used to create and identify your account.
Your Google Contacts — names, email addresses, phone numbers, organizations, notes, and contact-group (label) memberships (contacts scope). This is the data you view and edit in the Service.

We only request the scopes necessary to provide the features you use.

3. How we use information

To display, search, edit, label, merge, import, export, delete, and restore your contacts at your direction.
To authenticate you and keep you signed in across sessions.
To operate, maintain, and secure the Service.

We do not use your contacts for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features you request, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

4. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)

Contacts Manager's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, Google user data is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Service, is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide those features or as required by law, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans unless you give explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law.

5. What we store, and where

On our server: your Google account identifier, email, display name, and OAuth tokens (including a refresh token) so that your connection persists between visits. We store an authentication token — not a copy of your contacts.
Contact edits you make are written directly to your Google address book through the Google People API; they appear on all your devices, including your phone.
Trash: when you delete a contact, the Service keeps a temporary snapshot so you can restore it. On our hosting platform this storage is ephemeral and is cleared on restart or redeploy.
In your browser (local storage / cookies): a session cookie to keep you signed in, your language preference, and a local count of edits used to decide when to show an optional donation prompt. These stay on your device.

6. Third-party services

Google — authentication and the People API. Your use of Google is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Hosting provider — the Service runs on a cloud hosting platform that processes requests on our behalf.
Ko-fi — if you choose to make a voluntary donation, the optional donation button loads Ko-fi's widget and any payment is handled entirely by Ko-fi under its own policies. Donating is never required to use the Service.

7. Data retention and deletion

Logging out ends your session but keeps your stored token so the connection can be restored on your next sign-in.
You can revoke the Service's access at any time from your Google Account: myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access invalidates our stored token.
To have your stored account record and tokens deleted, contact us at the email above and we will delete them.
Deleting the Service's access does not delete the contacts in your Google account — those remain yours.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and OAuth 2.0, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. International use

Your information may be processed on servers located in countries other than your own. By using the Service you consent to such processing.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
